About the Venue

Hever Castle is the childhood home of Anne Boleyn who became the 2nd wife to Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I. Hever Castle is now a location for a wonderful family day out with lots to do and see along with the venue being available to host weddings, corporate and private events.

The venue has 18 luxury en-suite bedrooms. Steeped in history the Castle has one of the finest collections of Tudor portraits along with wonderful furnishings and tapestries.  The Gatehouse and curtain walls of the Castle were built in 1270 with the Tudor Castle being added by the Boleyn family. View the award winning gardens display a topiary chess set along with classical Italian statues.  Take a slow relaxing boat ride on the 38 acre lake enjoying the atmosphere of peace and tranquility of the Kent countryside.

Your Wedding at Hever Castle & Gardens

Hever Castle can offer three locations for a civil service or partnership ceremony and each location offers a unique charm.  The Astor Wing with its paneled Tudor suite sitting room overlooks the magnificent garden providing an exquisite atmosphere for a wedding. During the summer months couples exchange their vows within the gardens of the Castle between the arched columns of the Italian Loggia overlooking the picturesque lake.

Drinks receptions are hosted on the lawns moving into the Guthrie Pavilion for the wedding breakfast reception.  Winter brides and grooms can have their ceremonies within the Castle’s Inner Hall.  Ornate wooden carvings can be seen within beautiful décor of the Inner Hall, creating a magical feeling for a winter wedding with a romantic atmosphere with low lighting and a roaring log fire. Hever Castle is an everlasting and enduring step back into Tudor times.
