Today we bring you a sophisticated wedding styling shoot by Tina and the team at the Ickworth Hotel in Suffolk in February.

Romantic deep colours styled for a wedding at the Ickworth Hotel

An architectural marvel

Tina writes:

The Ickworth Hotel was home to the aristocratic Hervey family from 1702 until 1996 and it has all the grandeur of a stately home, with the eye-catching architectural marvel of its Rotunda.

It doesn’t look like a typical family hotel either it is bedecked with stunning period and contemporary furnishings, marble flooring and modern chandeliers.

I first visited the Ickworth hotel back in October 2017, to chat with the events coordinator Vivien about their wedding offering and asked if they would like me to arrange a styled photo shoot to showcase some of their rooms.

The hotel was delighted to be involved and so I got things in motion.

Marry in The Library at the Ickworth Hotel

I met with local photographer Alison Harris and asked local florist “The Flower Hut” to provide floral arrangements.  Bespoke stationary company “Oops A Doodle” provided menus and place cards.

What an elegant room

Inspirational surroundings

The hotel has quite a mix of artwork and furniture, so I looked at how I could complement the décor with my styling.

I set up the ceremony in The Library, which has a large painting of Lord Hervey. I used a burgundy sash on the chairs and plenty of foliage in the room, which worked well against the creamy ochre tones of the walls. Although it was snowing outside, it was a sunny day and the light was amazing!  We had lots of guests and staff popping in and asking what time the wedding was being held.  They were all very complimentary.

The wedding breakfast decor

The second room was the “Boardroom” where I set up 16 places for a wedding breakfast. This was a part wood panelled room with a deep red carpet.

The flowers worked beautifully with the room’s colours

I used simply tied champagne chiffon hoods on the chairs and a champagne sequin runner along the table, which really brought it to life.  Plenty of candles and plenty of foliage, which I gathered from the grounds on the day.  The deep red napkins gave a pop of colour to the table and the floral arrangement with the apricot and deep pinks was simply beautiful.

Alison captured the styling perfectly with her images and I am proud to showcase this photo shoot!
