Wedding Styling Packages vs Bespoke Styling: What’s Right for Your Wedding?
October 7th, 2026
When you first start planning your wedding, it probably won’t be long before you come across the word “package”.
Your wedding venue might offer a choice of packages. Your photographer may have several photography packages to choose from. Your videographer might do the same. So, by the time you start thinking about your wedding styling and decor, it feels completely natural to search for wedding styling packages and venue decor packages.
In fact, we’re regularly asked: “Can you send us details of your wedding styling packages?” And our answer might be a little different to what you’re expecting. At Ambience Venue Styling, we don’t offer one standard set of national wedding styling packages – and there’s a very good reason why. We believe your wedding should feel like yours.
Why doesn’t Ambience offer wedding styling packages as standard?
Quite simply, because no two weddings, or couples, are exactly the same.
You may love abundant florals but prefer beautifully understated tables. You might want to invest in an incredible ceremony backdrop but keep your wedding breakfast decor minimal. You may have fallen in love with a particular linen, colour palette or style of centrepiece but want us to completely reimagine it for your venue.
And then there’s the venue itself. A styling concept that looks incredible in an industrial city centre venue won’t necessarily translate in the same way to a barn venue, contemporary hotel, historic country house or intimate marquee. That’s why we don’t believe your choices should always be determined by what’s included in Package A, B or C. Instead, we start with you.
Bespoke wedding styling gives you greater flexibility
One of the biggest benefits of choosing bespoke wedding styling rather than a predetermined venue styling package is flexibility.
Rather than handing you a long list and asking you to select a certain number of centrepieces, chair decorations or accessories, we look at your wedding as a whole.
That includes understanding:
- your personal style and the things you’re naturally drawn to;
- your chosen colour palette and florals;
- the existing character and aesthetics of your venue;
- how you want your wedding to feel, not simply how you want it to look;
- where your styling budget will have the greatest impact; and
- how every element can work together to create one cohesive experience.
Because beautiful wedding styling isn’t simply about filling a room with decor.
It’s about creating atmosphere.
It starts with a design consultation
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly which flowers you want, how many candles you’ll need or what shape your centrepieces should be. That’s our job.
Your Ambience stylist will take you through a personal design consultation, held face-to-face either online or, where available, at your local stylist’s studio or Style Lounge. This is where we start to delve deeper.
What have you already saved to your inspiration boards? What do you love about those images? What don’t you like? How do you want guests to feel when they enter the room? Which elements of your venue do we want to enhance? Are there areas that need more impact than others? From there, your stylist can begin translating those ideas into a design concept created specifically for your celebration.
Bespoke doesn’t have to mean complicated
We completely understand the appeal of wedding decor packages. When you’re making what feels like hundreds of decisions, being presented with three options and simply choosing your favourite can sound wonderfully straightforward! Bespoke styling can initially feel like the opposite. With endless colours, flowers, fabrics, candles, signage, stationery and styling possibilities available, where do you even begin?
But that’s exactly why you have a stylist. Our role isn’t to overwhelm you with options. It’s to edit those options for you. Our experienced Ambience stylists are trained to make the design journey feel seamless, enjoyable and exciting – helping you make confident decisions while keeping the overall vision cohesive.
You get the freedom of bespoke design without being left to figure it all out yourself.
Your wedding shouldn’t feel like someone else’s
This is perhaps the part we’re most passionate about. We don’t want to simply recreate the same wedding again and again.
You might have seen an Ambience centrepiece that you absolutely love and that’s a brilliant starting point. But we’ll look at how we can adapt it through florals, colour, texture, scale, candlelight, linens or accessories to make it work beautifully for your venue and your wedding.
- Your flower recipe can be personal to you.
- Your fabrics and linens can complement your palette.
- Your signage and stationery can become part of the overall design.
- Your tablescapes can be layered around the atmosphere you’re trying to create.
- It’s about taking inspiration and adding the details that give it your identity – with that distinctive Ambience finish.
Does bespoke wedding styling cost more than a package?
Not necessarily. Choosing bespoke styling doesn’t automatically mean choosing more styling. In fact, one of the benefits of taking a tailored approach is being able to consider where your budget will make the greatest difference. Rather than paying for everything contained within a predefined wedding styling package, your stylist can help you prioritise the elements that matter to you and will create the greatest impact within your particular venue.
For one couple, that could be an incredible ceremony installation that later gets repurposed for the wedding breakfast. For another, it might be statement florals and beautifully layered tablescapes.
Someone else may want candlelight, linens and atmospheric details to completely change how their venue feels after dark. It’s about investing in the right details for your wedding rather than simply having more of them.
Do Ambience stylists ever offer wedding styling packages?
Yes. Although our national approach is centred around bespoke wedding and event styling, there are occasions where a package makes perfect sense.
Some of our local Ambience stylists work closely with particular wedding venues as an in-house or recommended styling partner. In these circumstances, they may create dedicated venue styling packages specifically designed around that venue.
Because the stylist knows the space intimately, these can provide a fantastic option for couples looking for a more streamlined styling experience.
Availability and what’s included will vary by venue and location, so it’s always worth speaking to your local Ambience stylist about the options available.
What about twilight wedding packages?
This is another occasion where a more defined package can work well. We’re seeing growing interest in twilight weddings, particularly during the autumn and winter months when natural daylight starts to disappear much earlier – that’s when styling can really come alive.
Think warm pools of candlelight, flickering lanterns, softly illuminated tables, atmospheric ceremony styling and beautifully considered details that make the transition from day into evening feel magical. For this style of celebration, the focus is often less about adding lots of individual decor elements and much more about creating mood and atmosphere.
That’s why selected Ambience stylists may offer twilight wedding styling packages, bringing together the key elements needed to create that look while still allowing the details to complement your venue and celebration.
When else might a styling package work?
Weddings aren’t the only events we style. For Christmas parties, seasonal events, corporate events and commercial styling, a package or defined collection can sometimes be exactly the right approach.
A business may need a clear concept that can be repeated across several locations. A venue may want a seasonal installation. A corporate client may need clearly defined options that can be easily approved internally. So we’re certainly not against styling packages, we simply don’t believe they need to be the starting point for every wedding.
Wedding package or bespoke styling: which is right for you?
There’s no right or wrong answer.
A wedding styling package could be perfect if you love what’s included, it suits your venue and you’d prefer to choose from a more defined selection. Bespoke wedding styling may be better suited to you if you want greater flexibility, would like your design to be tailored around your venue and priorities, or want professional creative input to bring together lots of different ideas into one cohesive concept.
The important thing is to look beyond the word package and ask:
What do we actually want our wedding to look and feel like? That’s the conversation we’d much rather start with.
