Why spring weddings are the bloomin’ best! Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning a spring wedding
Spring has sprung and whilst it feels like the weather didn’t get the memo, our stylists are preparing for their busiest wedding season ever! Kicking off in just a few weeks now, spring weddings are on their way and we can’t wait!
What can we expect to see this spring?
After making it through a cold and dreary winter, spring couples are injecting colour into their wedding colour palettes for 2023 and 2024. Vibrant blues and deep pinks will be interspersed with accents of purple for a really uplifting feel. These statement colours look incredible when pared back with softer complimenting shades such as a pale pink or lilac.
Balance the table design
Layering similar tones as opposed to intentionally matching them is the perfect way to add depth and interest to your styling so don’t be afraid to break free from a uniform look. Subtle additions such as selecting a coloured napkin as opposed to a white one, will pull the colours from your centrepieces and tablescapes to balance the table design.
Spring wedding flowers
No spring wedding is complete without an abundance of florals and springtime couples are blessed with a huge array of seasonal options to choose from. Depending on whether you’re getting married in early spring or the back end of spring you’ll easily source tulips, ranunculus, hydrangeas, larkspur, sweet peas and the hot favourite…peonies!
Floral creations from table decor to bouquets and everything in between will be full of texture and personality for 2023/24 – symbolic of the flowering meadows and gardens that are coming into their own for the season of new beginnings, it’s such a beautiful time of year to get married!
Romantic lighting to set the scene
Candlelight comes in a more delicate form this season with clear glassware styles introduced and used across key areas such as wedding tables, fireplaces, entrances, window ledges, staircases and the registrar table. Floating candles are the go to candle for the ultimate in elegant romance and contemporary box lanterns are top on the list for contemporary lighting.
Peak wedding dates in spring
With springtime weddings offering so much, it’s no surprise that lots of couples opt to get married from late March to the end of May. The weather has usually picked up and the clocks have gone forward so whilst blue skies can’t be guaranteed, you’re much more likely to get comfortable temperatures and longer daylight hours. If you haven’t yet booked your venue or your wedding suppliers, be mindful that dates during these months book up quickly, in particular peak wedding dates such as the Easter period and May Bank Holidays.
