At first glance you could be mistaken for thinking that this romantic gallery of elopement shots was captured in a European destination but we’ll let you into a little secret… this hidden gem of a spot is actually in the UK and could be closer to you than you think!
Earlier this month our talented Ambience Malton and North Yorkshire Coast franchisee Kim, collaborated with fellow industry creatives at this idyllic location in the North Yorkshire countryside. The Yorkshire Lavender Farm is set in a spectacular hillside farm of nearly 60 acres, within the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the panoramic view is said to be one of the best in Yorkshire! We spoke to Kim to find out more…
Inspired by the charm and beauty of Provence, France
“Our amazing photographers, Sophie and Taylar had the vision of creating a destination elopement shoot inspired by the charm and beauty of Provence, France. Also featuring a walled garden, this unique setting was exactly what we were looking for. A sea of lilac and purple in the rolling countryside offered the picture perfect backdrop. To set the scene for our bride and groom, we opted for a luxury sweetheart table as well as a picturesque picnic for two to maximise the romance stakes.”

“It was important to us that we reflected our surroundings within the design and that visually there was an abundance of details to feast your eyes upon! No elopement picnic is complete without a framed wall of cascading florals and wedding cake! We loved the simplicity but effectiveness of this gorgeous 3 tier sweet treat by Helen James.”

“Taking further inspiration from Provence, we introduced lace detailing and florals such as sweet peas and roses, which sat beautifully against the lavender background. Florist, Katie Olivier, used a soft pastel colour palette of blooms in an eclectic mix of planters and vases to emulate a really organic feel. Meanwhile the table linens contrasted amongst the natural setting and took centre stage, bringing the accessories to life.”
Chic french details
“No detail was overlooked even down to the bespoke lavender napkins that had been edged with lace to style out elegant, scalloped charger plates. The place settings were then completed by layering them with luxury menu cards taken from an artistic suite that oozed chic French vibes, handcrafted by Jane Beadnell.”
Bride and Groom attire
“Our bride, Sammi-Peony wore a stunning Monica Loretti gown from bridal boutique Treasured Brides and veil from Richard Designs. To accompany this look, our groom, Will wore black tie attire with a stylish tuxedo from Jon Paul Menswear.”
The concept and results
“It was a pleasure to work with such a fantastic team, the whole evening was so much fun. A huge thank you to wedding planner, Amanda Whiston for inviting us to be a part of this epic shoot. It’s fair to say that in England, you can never quite predict the weather and when you’re shooting a French inspired design, you’re all hoping for the weather to be on your side which thankfully it was!
