A seasonal, romantic, berry colour palette

The summer of 2021 has certainly been an insanely busy time for the wedding industry and a season we’ll never forget! As the summer draws out and the new season draws in, we’re looking forward to welcoming autumn with open arms and we’ll be adopting a new styling approach that focuses on deeper, richer tones that add warmth to a space. It won’t be long before we have the crisp leaves crunching underneath our feet and log fires burning in the heart of venues.

Today we’re sharing beautiful, autumnal inspiration from a collaborative shoot featuring our very talented Harrogate stylist, Lydia at The Majestic Hotel. We love the romantic seasonal feel flowing throughout with a berry colour palette that is guaranteed to wow!

Coloured candles

On the last Sunday of October, the clocks will “fall back” and candlelight will play a big role in wedding decor as we look to enhance feature areas. Nothing is more inviting than the glow of a candle lit room and in autumn/winter 2021 and 2022 we’ll see an increasing number of couples opt for coloured candles to inject accent shades into their table decor. Slim line taper candles are one of our favourite ways to implement this, particularly when using varying heights.

Textured layering

Autumn will also see the use of texture in the form of both mixed foliage arrangements, dried flowers and contrasting linens. Layering a heavier linen fabric against a softer more relaxed material such as chiffon, is a super effective way of adding depth to your styling and can be seen here with the napkins and table runners.

What is tonal styling?

Tonal styling is about making an impact by using a family of shades as opposed to trying to match a colour throughout. So with pink we’d start with a dusky rose, right through to a blush pink and to add intensity we’d incorporate touches of a deep magenta. Tonal styling isn’t just about colour though, it’s about the use of texture, By using different fabrics and finishes you’ll instantly create a stronger look. There’s an art to mixing the same colours across different textures!

Autumnal accessories

It’s harvest time and the season of conkers, pine cones and pumpkins! What better way to offer a nod towards autumn than by styling place settings like this one. Autumnal texture against a soft, feminine rose palette and woven wheat linen makes for a striking finish.
