Black tie styling just got a festive makeover!
December 8th, 2025
Christmas weddings are becoming increasingly popular, and it’s easy to see why when they look like this! Christmas weddings capture a kind of magic that’s hard to replicate at any other time of year. The festive season already carries a sense of magic, togetherness and celebration, making it a natural backdrop for a wedding. Couples love the idea of combining the feel good factor of the holidays with the romance of their big day!
The main reason to plan a Christmas wedding!
One main reason for the appeal of planning a Christmas wedding, is the fact that many venues are already beautifully decorated for the season with twinkling lights, spruce garlands, festive accessories and cosy touches that instantly set the tone, allowing couples to tailor the rest of their decor around this. With shorter days and colder weather outside, there’s something especially inviting about gathering indoors around candlelight, roaring fires and the scent of pine.
Old world romance meets modern elegance
This black tie wedding at Notley Abbey was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and festive charm. The venue, already steeped in historic character, was given a magical festive makeover that transformed it’s rustic beauty into a winter wonderland. The design concept embraced the season wholeheartedly, combining luxurious black table linen with warm amber lighting and contrasting white chair decor, to create a space that felt both grand and inviting. Every detail worked harmoniously to bring a sense of sophistication and celebration to the day. The rustic charm of the architecture balanced the formality of the black tie aesthetic, creating a truly captivating fusion of old world romance and modern elegance.
Intimate dining details
The banquet style table layout instantly added drama to the room. Long rows of guests seated together in and amongst tall Christmas trees that were positioned the length of the tables offering a feeling of intimacy while amplifying the visual impact of the design. Rolling tablescapes of floating candlelight cast a romantic glow, shimmering in the glassware! Above, twinkling fairy lights cascaded from the beams, weaving a canopy of light overhead.
Tell a visual story with your wedding signage
Another standout detail was the couple’s personalised signage, which has become an increasingly popular trend for 2025 and 2026 weddings. These thoughtful touches not only guide guests but also help tie the visual story together. Like here, where our beautiful couple, Fi and Dan opted to include the piano in their design to signify a feature of their day.
