Get wedding decor ticked off your list with Ambience!
May 20, 2021
With restrictions further easing across the UK, wedding venues and suppliers are coming together to create open days, events and showcases to get your wedding planning back on track and those “to do” lists ticked off! Over the last year engaged couples have been taking to the internet in their hundreds of thousands to find inspiration through Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, wedding blogs, virtual tours, even magazines have taken their publications online so couples can easily scroll through a digital version.
However, after months of online wedding planning, couples are eager to view potential wedding venues in person, physically see the rooms dressed for a wedding so they can visualise the space and discover how specific suppliers can add those all important elements to their wedding day.
Bringing you inspiration you can experience in person
Our Ambience team stretch across the country covering as far north as Scotland and as far south as Cornwall which will be opening in June! We’re on a mission to deliver you a huge dose of real, in person, super stylish inspiration! The kind you can actually touch and experience – we can all admire the beauty of a picture but nothing quite beats the feeling of walking into a room flooded with candlelight and filled with the scent of fresh flowers, it’s at that very moment that couples suddenly start to imagine how their special day could be!
Sarah – Ambience Fife & Stirlingshire
This week we’re bringing you some stunning behind the scenes action from an open weekend recently styled by Sarah, our Fife and Stirlingshire stylist at the magical Kinkell Byre, St Andrews in Scotland. We spoke to Sarah to find out her ideas behind the design concept…
“The Byre is an amazing space full of character and charm, it’s a big space and can really take some statement designs. The idea for the ceremony room which is naturally dark and subtlety lit by amazing festoon lights, was to ‘lift’ the space by using ivory chiffon chair drapes on the venue’s cross back chairs and then install a floral and foliage wedding arch – I incorporated country and spring vibes throughout the florals, (although it was a particularly cold Scottish May weekend!) and used an abundance of ribbed glass hurricane vases with pillar candles and an ivory runner to define the aisle.”
“We also set up a table themed with powder blue and dark blue tones – lots of our clients are looking to work with shades of blue in their styling one the next couple of years so I wanted to create a design that would provide inspiration for those couples as well as newly engaged couples just starting out on their style journey. We elevated the blue colour palette with gold accents such as gold cutlery and continued the same feel with the florals as featured in the ceremony. Powder blue cheesecloth napkins and glass beaded charger plates really set the table off.”
What the venue had to say:
Sam, the marketing and events manager at Kinkell Byre added, “Styling your wedding venue is such an important but daunting task for couples getting married, they have a vision for how they expect their wedding to look but not necessarily the know how to achieve it so we always like to go all out when we have an open weekend showing couples what they can achieve with a stylists help.
When Sarah from Ambience Fife offered to help style Kinkell Byre for our first post-lockdown open weekends we were so excited to see how she would style the space and we were not disappointed. Neither were all 100 couples who viewed the Byre over the 2 weekend events. We look forward to working with Sarah in the future”.
