Today we’ve a very special real wedding with some touches that are going to delight you!
One of our stylists helped to put together this beautiful wedding in Kent which was held at the Winters Barns, Canterbury. Let’s take a look…
Beautifully styled with topiary trees, chalkboards, vintage bicycles
We think you’ll agree that the entrance to Emma and Sam’s or shall we call them Mr & Mrs Barne, wedding reception was certainly stunning! The guests must have loved arriving here.
A vintage bicycle did double duty as signage with a chalkboard giving a warm welcome. The trug basket in front of the bicycle was filled with country-style flowers, which gave a real pop of colour in pinks, purples, fuchsias. Then elegant topiary trees lined the footpath with some bunting hung in between for a party atmosphere.
Some style pointers here! Check the bridegroom’s on-trend blue suit. Also we love the trim on Emma’s veil and the way it cascades down, framing her wedding dress.
It’s quite fitting that the couple’s married name is Mr & Mrs Barnes. Mind you, what a beautiful barn in which to marry and we think you’ll agree that it was styled beautifully. Lights strung at different levels on the ceiling draw the eye and traditional dried hops soften the beams.
The bride chose a pale pastel colour palette for her chair sashes with a classic white chair cover. All very simple but certainly welcoming for guests.
The table settings were also in keeping with the whole look. Just a simple country style which is perfect for a barn setting.
Look at the image below and you will see how much the guests relaxed and enjoyed themselves. A barn wedding like this one makes for a lovely atmosphere it’s welcoming, spacious, cool in summer and cosy in winter. We’re a fan of these weddings! There’s also something very personal about this type of venue as well as picturesque.
The evening party
One feature that stands out at this wedding is the use of lighting and props. These L-O-V-E letters certainly had their place in the photographs!
They made a natural focus for guests to stand behind and summed up the mood of the day. A little bunting scattered in the background added a subtle country touch.
When evening came around, yet again Emma and Sam’s gorgeous venue stepped up to the mark. This beamed gateway offered the perfect photo opportunity decorated with a lantern, lights and bunting. It certainly welcomed the evening arrivals.
And the L-O-V-E letter prop was lit up again for the evening.
Sometimes one simple item like this one can set the whole mood for a wedding day. It’s always good for photographers to have a visual prop to focus a shot around.
Letters were something of a theme at the wedding altogether in fact. Check out the dance floor! What a fantastic way to do the lighting!
Our stylists can help you to source all sorts of props like these, in fact they will already hold many of them themselves. And if you want to keep them after the wedding as a memento then they’ll certainly be open to discussion.
