Top 5 tips for styling your black tie wedding or event
Get your tuxedos and floor length dresses at the ready because formal black tie weddings and events are trending! This style is all about the elegant details with a dress code to match! Here’s our top 5 tips to consider when styling your black tie wedding or event:
Metallic accessories
Bring in the metallics and elevate this look with muted gold or champagne accessories. A monochrome colour palette has the confidence to stand alone but incorporating soft metallic hues through the use of candle holders, charger plates, napkin rings, cutlery or even opting for gold rimmed glassware will add a feeling of refined elegance.
Add drama!
No black tie wedding or event is complete without an abundance of candlelight. If your event is taking place in the evening nothing adds impact and drama quite like a room flooded with candlelight and you’ll struggle to find anyone who disagrees with that, trust us! Think about how your candlelight will be distributed around the room and enhance dark spaces with varying height lanterns.
Find the balance
Pops of blousy white florals such as avalanche roses and hydrangeas will offer a softer, feminine feel against contrasting black features which can be incorporated in your candle holders, table runners, napkins, and stationery pieces. Achieving just the right balance of both black and white styling will provide a striking finish for those in search of a classic, contemporary style.
Textured green
Shades of green are hitting the wedding world in a big way for 2023/24 and we couldn’t be happier because we can now combine two of our most favourite looks! Rather than opting for a traditional monochromatic design, why not add an edgier feel by the use of sage green, forest green or olive green. Load up your florals with stems of mixed foliage to add texture and depth to your centrepieces, fireplace decor and focal points!
Signage
Greet your guests with a personalised welcome! We love this white acrylic signage with gold calligraphy font which fits into the styling seamlessly and offers guests a glimpse of what’s to come when the doors open! Now where’s that champagne, let’s get the festive season underway!
