Gone are the days when you had to be a traditional kind of a bride and have a white wedding with touches of silver or gold.

Today it’s quite different and the type of wedding you opt for all depends on the type of people you and your fiancé are.

Let’s look at some different ways of wedding theming so you can think about which may suit you.

Theming your wedding by colour

This is probably the simplest way of setting up your wedding theme. It’s relatively inexpensive, straightforward and if you get it right the results can be spectacular.

If you’re going down this route, we’d say that you need to consider carefully the season in which you are marrying. For example, if you are marrying in spring a pastel shaded wedding in hues of lemon and apple green would look perfect but it’s maybe not the best season for dramatic scarlets, hot pinks and deep purples. Spring weddings suit light and fresh tones. On the other hand, if you’re planning a winter or a Christmas wedding, then deep rich colours are absolutely perfect. Think of rich plums, forest greens, navy and ruby reds set off by winter white. In summer bright primary colours look good under a bright sun and in autumn naturally we are given inspiration from nature and it presents us with the options for russet oranges, golden brown, garnet and conker chestnuts.

Colours are something our experienced wedding stylists will help you nail. They’ll decorate your venue for you with sashes and table covers to set off the colour and also advise on wedding stationery, bridesmaid dresses, flowers and all the other aspects you’ll be needing to think about to get the look right.

Theming your wedding by your venue

You’ll choose your venue for all sorts of reasons. Maybe the location is perfect for you. Maybe it’s free on the day you need it. Maybe it fits in well with your wedding budget or maybe it’s just where you always dreamed of getting married.

In which case we’ll help design your venue to transform it into your perfect wedding reception. Nowadays, in keeping with the more informal tone of a wedding and fun, many couples are opting to have a festival style wedding. Our stylists have created several weddings in this vein and can decorate the ceremony venue so you get the look from the word go as well as supplying festival bunting for outside, flaming torches, floor cushions – all the props you’ll need and wouldn’t want to have to source yourself.

Country garden style weddings

A rustic wedding is never going to go out of style and if you’re getting married in the spring, summer or autumn then it’s a timeless choice. You can carry a simple hand-tied bouquet and have flowers in your hair along with your bridesmaids. Serve afternoon tea from pretty china cups (which our stylists can provide for you) and get your baking friends to supply cakes and treats.

Our stylists are experts at adding those extra little touches which give a wedding reception the wow factor and as they have created country garden style weddings for brides before they’ll have some novel ideas to share with you.

If you want to look at the different styles of weddings we have created for brides get in touch and your local stylist who will be happy to share images with you.

Talk through your ideas with us

Our stylists are used to chatting with brides and letting their wildest dreams become an affordable reality. They can tell you what is do-able with your budget. They’ll also have some ideas which you may not have even thought of. Instead of having to trawl eBay and charity shops looking for the right accessories yourself, you can just rely on one of our stylists to get the look right with the decor items they will have at their disposal. For example, many stylists have used topiary trees tied with different coloured ribbon to enliven what might otherwise be a very boring doorway.

So, whatever kind of wedding theme you have in mind, get in touch and chat your ideas through to see how we can make them work together. There’s no obligation to take things further and having a stylist could save you money and will almost certainly save you time and stress. You can contact us here.
