How Coronavirus Has Impacted Weddings in 2020

It’s certainly been a crazy old time but we’re so grateful to each and every one of our clients who have rescheduled their dates, made new bookings or have just given our posts a like, a share or a comment – a huge heart felt thank you!
Bridebook, the UK’s no 1 wedding planning app, has seen around 64% of 2020 UK weddings impacted by Coronavirus, either due to postponements, cancellations, or travel logistics.
> 2021 – The Year of the Wedding
At Ambience Venue Styling UK, our stylists are now seeing a huge increase in bookings for Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays with the trend originally being Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The winter season in 2021 is also growing in popularity with many spring/summer dates already having limited availability. This means we’ll see more stunning weddings throughout January-March and November through until the New Year!
We’re finding that many couples who have had to reschedule their weddings until 2021 due to COVID-19 are still planning to tie the knot on their original date with just a couple of witnesses in a small ceremony and are then looking to hire a celebrant to renew their vows on their rescheduled date with all of their friends and family.
> Micro-weddings
Are you looking to reduce your guest numbers in light of the current pandemic? We’ve seen a rise in couples who are hoping to have smaller more intimate wedding celebrations (“Micro weddings”) in the not too distant future with social distancing potentially limiting the number of guests couples will be able to have.
This could mean wedding parties of approx 30-50 and whilst those who originally had guest lists of 100 + may prefer to postpone, it’s working for clients who already had a relatively small celebration planned.

For those venues who are working on skeleton staff with the majority on furlough, the offer to go and view properties is gradually becoming a possibility over the coming weeks with some venues already offering this as an option so keep a look out on your chosen venue’s social media pages for updates!
