Autumnal wedding inspiration that will set your heart on fire!
Looking for autumn inspired wedding ideas? Just a few weeks ago, Sam our Ambience Venue Styling Cheshire East stylist, was invited to collaborate with a talented team of industry suppliers and models to create a real life, autumnal shoot with bags of inspiration for those seeking ideas for the cooler autumn season. A beautiful rich colour palette of terracotta and rust with an abundance of candlelight got temperatures soaring in the wedding barn and the details will capture your imagination if you’re planning to get wed September through to November. Alternatively you could still take inspiration from the individual elements and pull them into your own colour scheme…
We spoke to Sam from Ambience Venue Styling Cheshire East to find out more about the photoshoot
“I was on a train travelling to London when I was approached on Instagram by Angela Berg from Flawless Faces UK, who was organising an autumnal themed wedding shoot at Owen House Wedding Barn. Angela had been closely watching my work on Instagram and felt my styling would work well with this shoot. I spent the rest of my train journey doing some research and I didn’t hesitate to accept! OHWB is a great venue, and I loved the autumnal theme for the shoot. I was instantly attracted to the mood board as the colours, designs and general theme were all pulled together beautifully.”
What made you choose Owen House as the location?
“Owen House Wedding Barn is a chic venue located in Mobberley in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. The barn offers a bespoke setting on a working farm that is family run and provides couples with a truly unique wedding experience. The venue has a rustic charm that perfectly lends itself to an autumnal theme. It has an excellent reputation and has been renovated to a very high standard. The venue has an abundance of natural stone floors, exposed brickwork, wooden beams and quirky spaces that offer the opportunity for interesting and inspiring imagery so it fit the brief perfectly.”
What were the key accessories that you used to create the look?
“Deep, earthy colours and copper tones were the chosen colour palette and when Lesley sent over a photo of the cake, I noticed she had used some terracotta chiffon tied around the middle. This then prompted me to go for the same colour on the table centrepieces and I opted for a cheesecloth material to give a more rustic finish to sit alongside the rest of the décor, bridalwear and floristry.”
Crockery, cutlery and glassware
“I approached Whitehouse Crockery Hire based in Manchester to provide stunning gold charger plates from their Savannah range and teamed these up with gold rimmed glassware and gold cutlery. I wanted all of the table decor to really connect with one another and now more than ever, our couples are really keen to involve this within their own wedding day and styling.”
Rustic elegance
“I also wanted to incorporate lots of candlelight to achieve a really romantic setting and layered varying heights of delicate stemmed floating candle holders with single taper candlesticks on the guest tables and top table for an elegant look. It’s often thought that rustic must mean everything has to be in it’s natural state and very raw with an unstructured concept but actually by adding in luxurious fabrics and elegant candlelight, you can create a feeling of warmth that instantly offers an inviting atmosphere.”
Floristry
“Gemma created the most beautiful bridal bouquet that was full of texture and volume. It pulled through all of the colours from the styling and this feel continued throughout the table arrangements.”
The overall finish
The whole collaboration from start to finish was an absolute joy! The venue looked amazing. Everybody involved worked incredibly hard to make sure that their piece of the puzzle fitted together seamlessly with the rest. What a lovely bunch of talented professionals, I would have no hesitation in working with each and every one of them again. I am delighted with the finished results and the photos are fantastic. We are all very proud x
