Wedding Florals With Olive Ambience Venue Styling Winchester And Southampton

A Sicilian summer dream wedding

With summer having almost drawn to a close we couldn’t end the season without sharing this show stopping outdoor wedding that could quite literally have jumped off the pages of a glossy Mediterranean wedding brochure! Designed and styled by the talented Holly, owner of Ambience Bath; we put Holly in the hot seat and invited her to share how she curated this Sicilian scorcher of a wedding at Euridge Manor! Here’s what Holly had to say:

“We have had the pleasure of working on many gorgeous weddings this summer and this stunning outdoor celebration was certainly a firm favourite amongst our team.”

The dream wedding setting – Euridge Manor

Some venues are a dream to style and Euridge Manor, between Chippenham and Bath, is absolutely one of them. Aside from the quirky historic house, with its cloisters and grotto, the artfully wild and romantic grounds feature a rose covered pergola, an outdoor crystal chandelier and even a boating lake with breathtakingly turquoise coloured water.

A colour palette of nude, peach and burnt orange

After our initial consultation with our couple, Divi and Yas, we knew that we could help them to create something spectacular at this venue! Our bride, Divi, really wanted an opulent, contemporary look based around nude and peachy tones with accents of burnt orange. A look that would have drama, impact and give guests that all important ‘wow’ moment.

A Sicilian inspired outdoor wedding

As with all of our designs, the key is in the detail and it’s these small touches that really elevate a look and give it something unique and special. In this case, Divi was keen to include some elements that referenced Yas’s Sicilian heritage, so we opted to include some olive foliage, for a Mediterranean feel. As Sicily is world famous for its citrus trees, I also thought it would be perfect to incorporate dried orange slices. So, we created bespoke place names pinned to individual orange slices, which brought a pop of burnt orange to each place setting, as well as conveying that personal, family reference. In fact, our couple loved these place names so much that they have had their ‘Bride’ and ‘Groom’ names framed so they can keep them as a mini work of art (they recently sent us a photo of this being done at the framers, which really made me smile!).

Tablescape styling with a Mediterranean touch

Set beneath the pergola, the tablescape featured a luxuriously layered look with nude/peach toned chiffon runners, set alongside gold beaded glass charger plates, gold cutlery and gently knotted wheat napkins. The floral design comprised of small bowls and bud vases running along the tablescape, featuring a mixture of luxurious blooms interspersed with dried textures, taking a loose, asymmetrical, contemporary look. I’m particularly in love with the painted latte carnations we managed to source, which brought lovely deep rust and terracotta tones (a colour palette quite hard to achieve in the natural floral world).

The perfect summer’s day

We must also mention the weather, which was very kind to us on the day, as this really helped us to achieve this idyllic, outdoor Mediterranean vision. Whilst 36-degree heat is not deal for working (we were using our water sprays on ourselves as much as on the flowers!) – the overall look set against the blue sky, with the chiffon drapes gently moving in the breeze, couldn’t have been more perfect.

And most importantly of all, our couple LOVED it! We were so pleased to be able to help Divi and Yas have their magical day (after multiple previous postponements due to the pandemic). It really was a joy to help bring their vision to life!
