A grand autumnal get together!
It’s that time of year where we all start to seek comfort from wholesome foods, roaring fires and atmospheric settings that we can enjoy with friends and family. With early evenings and colder temperatures we naturally spend more time indoors and hosting dinner parties at home are hot on the schedule for many.
This week we’re sharing with you this incredible autumn/winter design created and styled by the very talented Joely from Ambience Buckinghamshire and a collaborative team of expert suppliers at Rackley’s Barn.
What colour palette should I use in autumn?
Berry tones have long been an effective use of colour for the autumn season. Combining deep aubergine with the richness of magenta and lifted with a soft pink, offers a regal, earthy and heartwarming look. What’s even better is, that this colour palette carries through to winter effortlessly so whether you’re hosting in October or January, it fits the bill!
Layer up!
Here, the base layer of coloured table linen sets the foundation for this grand get together. An opulent feasting table that has almost something of a medieval aura about it! Leaving the natural wood of the cross back chairs exposed makes the details of this banquet design even more distinct.
Edible accessories to set the scene
Styling is more than just how it looks, it’s about how it makes people feel…set the scene with winter fruits. Candelight and florals nestled amongst figs, blackberries, apples and plums offers an “at home” feel with a difference.
Exquisite details
From the trifold wheat linen napkins laid upon glass charger plates to the complimenting menu cards, these beautiful place settings know how to deliver maximum impact!
Top tip
Create a menu that includes some of those winter fruits adorning your tablescape, maybe a winter berry crumble?!
Turn down the lights
What makes every room come to life in autumn or winter? Candlelight wins every time! From the textured low level tea light holders used here to the contrasting taper candles that add height, nothing beats an inviting glow.
