A luxurious wedding reception design
June 04, 2021
At the end of May we were invited to style a luxurious wedding reception design for a private pop up restaurant event at Bunny Hill Weddings in East Yorkshire. After a turbulent 15 months, the team at the venue are getting ready to hit the ground running with a huge backlog of weddings and lots of couples eager to finally get the chance to say their “I do’s” amongst family and friends.
Reconnecting couples with their wedding venue
The event was about reconnecting couples with their long awaited wedding venue, a chance to see all of the developments that have been made on site throughout lockdown, meet new team members and to reignite their excitement and passion for planning again – it’s fair to say that it certainly did that!
A relaxed evening
Guests were greeted and escorted to the mezzanine bar area where they dined on incredible canapés provided by the venue’s in house caterers, The Hog and Apple and enjoyed beautifully presented cocktails prepared by the Yorkshire Bartender.
Super talented loop artist and vocalist, Glen Roughead set a relaxed atmosphere for the evening and it was fantastic to see couples smiling again!
How will you style your wedding day?
The main space at the venue is split into two sections – the double fronted building houses the reception barn and the garden room for civil ceremonies. Couples were able to show their close family members the rooms at the venue and started to imagine how they would style the spaces for their special day. One of the first opportunities since lockdown whereby they could view their venue again and remind themselves of all the many reasons they fell in love with Bunny Hill in the first instance. It was great to work alongside Queens Flowers and Limelight Wedding Emporium to deliver a source of stylish inspiration to lots of brides and grooms to be!
Alternative colour scheme?
We wanted to bring couples a dose of elegance with lots of inspiring details and an alternative colour scheme, something fresh and clean but with distinct character. We used a neutral base layer of earthy tones drawing out a range of textures across the tableware and linen to add depth. Enhanced with a subtle, powder blue and defined with gold finishings.
As daylight turned to dusk, the candlelight came alive and offered a romantic glow across the tables. We created a range of varying centrepiece designs incorporating fresh roses, olive, breathtaking peppermint blue hydrangeas and the season’s first fragrant peonies. The top table featured an exquisite tablescape consisting of delicate stemmed floating candle holders, designer taper candles and varying styles of bud vases to coordinate with the guest tables. A huge shout out to the wonderful Alexandria for capturing the evening in all it’s beauty!
