Autumn/winter Wedding Inspiration – Enchanted Opulence

Sept 11, 2020

It’s something we’re all thinking, how are we in September already? There’s definitely a feeling that autumn is on the way and with the evenings starting to draw in, it won’t be long before we’re listening to the crackle of the log fire and sitting amongst candlelight. To get us in the mood for the new season, we’re bringing you inspiration that packs a punch!

Wedding Venue – Newburgh Priory

This stunning dramatic shoot took place at Newburgh Priory. Nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, this wedding venue is available to hire exclusively as yours for the day. An elegant and intriguing venue steeped in history, the headless torso of Oliver Cromwell was laid to rest here!

Whilst the East wing of the house remains as ruins and is allegedly cursed, the Inside of the main house oozes opulence with a regal gold and green colour palette. Refined details can be found throughout the interiors and it’s exactly this feeling of intrigue and mystery that made this setting the perfect choice for a shoot that would bring a level of enchantment like no other!

How to create an impactful wedding design

Our Ambience Harrogate and North Yorkshire stylist, Amy teamed up with Wellies and Wifi and a talented team of wedding suppliers to create a vision that delivered opulence, drama and beauty. Using a mainly neutral colour palette with accents of burgundy and pink, textures were then introduced by using mixed foliage and pampas grass. Candlelight was the order of the day and once lit the atmosphere in the room intensified with a romantic glow throughout.

A tablescape tiered with taper candles, rich gold place settings and luxurious pink fabrics provided the base layer to an overhead floral installation designed by Dittany Entwined. If that wasn’t enough, a dessert table of impressive cakes by Where The Ribbon Ends was also featured to bring a high impact finish. Video footage of the design was filmed by Pinecone Productions UK and can be found here for a full look behind the scenes!
