Good food brings people together

Apr 09, 2021

Are you looking forward to eating out?

The hospitality sector is preparing to come back with a BOOM and it’s so amazing to hear how many restaurants and venues are actually already fully booked for outdoor dining in England over the next few weeks! After months of home cooked dinners in rotation, the thought of going out for food appeals to just about everyone right now! If you’re anything like us, you’ve downloaded the menu from the restaurant website and know exactly what you’re ordering! You might have even picked out your outfit! It’s officially time to ditch the comfies!

The power of the dining table!

It’s no surprise that the last 12 months have seen families spend more time at the kitchen dining table together. In fact, research found 44% of families are eating more meals together than ever before due to everyone being home. What’s really interesting is, as a result, 36% of people said they feel closer to their relatives and 32% believe they are kinder to one another!

Event Styling

Good food is one thing that never fails to bring people together and this week we’re throwing it back to an event that we were very honoured to be a part of with the fabulous team at Bunny Hill Weddings to celebrate their success since opening. Set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds between York and Hull, Bunny Hill offers panoramic countryside views. It’s a truly unique barn venue that sits in acres of serene grounds backed by woodland. https://www.bunnyhillweddings.co.uk

We were invited to style out a small and intimate get together for 30 people in their mezzanine lounge bar overlooking the main hall and what’s even better is that we got to attend and enjoy a sumptuous 8 course tasting menu handcrafted by the very talented team at the Hog and Apple. An epic line up of dishes with a drink to perfectly accompany each one, a guaranteed conversation starter!

For this particular event we created sociable tablescapes that extended along rustic banquet tables provided by Typical Type. James Firth of James Firth Floral Designs filled the overhead canopies with fresh mixed foliage to add impact and atmospheric candlelight really set the scene. There’s nothing better than spending an evening in awesome company, enjoying good food and we’re counting down the days until we can get back out there as a nation and live these moments again and again!
