Today we have a real wedding to share with you that was designed by one of our stylists.
Victoria and Christopher held their wedding in the Lake District and the bride chose a super romantic peach and sage colour scheme, which reflected the summer light to perfection. Let’s take a closer look. (And thanks to Shane Webber Photography for the fabulous images.)
Victoria chose classic sage and peach colours for her wedding day, and the tables were named after the travel theme chosen by the couple
It’s always a fun idea to have special names for your tables, rather than numbers. Victoria decided on a travelling theme for her wedding day, using holiday photos and destinations as their table names (romantically because these were responsible for some of the couple’s best memories in their five years together).
Tall flower arrangements were elegant but didn’t get in the way of conversation. Table names had a travel theme which is an easy one if you both love visiting different countries
The wedding venue was The Grange Hotel, Grange Over Sands, for both the ceremony and reception.
For the colour palette, Victoria chose sage green as a main shade, complemented by peach. As Victoria said: “We just love those subtle, natural, summery colours.”
The bridesmaids wore skirts from Coast and lace tops from Miss Selfridge
The bridesmaids wore a sage skirt from Coast, and a lace top from Miss Selfridge. “My two nephews and two nieces walked down the aisle with my bridesmaids; it meant such a lot for them to be a part of our day.”
Our stylist decorated the aisle with large lanterns – and the pageboys and flowergirls performed their role perfectly
Have a trial make-up session
Bridal make-up is always crucial and Victoria was wise enough to have a make-up trial, rather than leaving it to the big day. We think she looked beautiful. The bride wanted different hairstyles for all the different bridesmaids – which worked beautifully.
Victoria and Chris were delighted with the photographer they chose and the bouquets and arrangements created by their florist
Picking the photographer
It’s always crucial to choose a photographer who reflects your personal taste and who can be relied on to make your wedding images exactly as you want. Victoria commented: “Shane Webber was our photographer and we couldn’t be happier with our decision! He was calm and personable on the day, making everyone feel completely at ease. It felt like he was a close friend rather than a photographer we’d never met and so many people commented on just how lovely he was.”
We’d always recommend looking at room draping to make a space extra special and here it creates a real air of romance on the dance floor
Video memories
One of a couples’ key regrets after the wedding day is not having it videoed – but that’s not an omission made by this couple. Victoria says about Tom Harrington: “The film he produced was stunning – we must have watched it 20 times on the first day! Chris scoured the internet for the perfect videographer (he’s extremely picky!) and we are both so glad he did because he found him!”
When is a cake not a cake? When it’s a pie? As Victoria and Chris didn’t have a sweet tooth, they chose layers of savoury pie instead!
Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly which flowers you should choose for your big day, although you should always try and choose blooms that are in season. Victoria admitted that she didn’t know the names of flowers and so couldn’t describe what she wanted. So she gave the florist some pictures and a budget. It was obviously the right thing to do because she was delighted with what they created: “…absolutely stunning yet so natural looking, and they matched perfectly with our colour scheme.”
Tip: Set up a Pinterest board of flowers you like and share it with your florist.
Sage and peach is a timeless theme – and the chairbacks looked super elegant here.
