The Top Wedding Stationery Trends for 2021/22

Nov 20, 2020

Brides and Grooms have never had so much choice when it comes to wedding stationery ideas in 2021 and 2022! Couples can choose from different fonts, paper, card, embellishments, printing, illustrations and packaging and with more couples looking at ways in which to personalise their wedding day, your stationery is the perfect place to start.

Whether you’re choosing a full wedding stationery suite or looking for individual items such as place names, menu cards, invitations, save the dates – here’s the wedding stationery trends that are hitting the wedding world in a big way throughout 2021 and 2022!

Sustainability

A trend that we’re seeing everywhere now – sustainable and eco-concious, environmentally friendly weddings. Therefore the most important thing to look for in paper/card to be used for stationery, is that the paper comes from sustainable forests. Stationers are searching for card/paper that comes FSC certified. FSC is the Forest Stewardship Council and they’re an organisation that makes sure we’re all being responsible with the world’s forests.

Vellum Paper

Vellum paper offers a modern but soft vibe to any stationery suite and is being teamed with embellishments and wax seals over the next couple of years. This is one style that is proving incredibly popular due to it’s versatility and contemporary feel.

Botanicals – Greenery and Florals

Illustrated florals on invitations are now steadily moving towards a bigger focus on greenery and foliage. Florals will still feature on stationery, but with a wilder feel, rather than the more traditional classic look.

Minimalism

Less artwork, more white space! Modern calligraphy font is a popular choice for this option and it’s all about the wording and spacing. The less busy the better!

Unique shapes and sizes

Looking at slightly more obscure shapes, custom pieces and origami styles. Pieces that add interest and act as more of a keepsake for guests. The sky is the limit!

Foil Printing

Gold foil in particular continues to be a popular trend and way in which to elevate a design. A simple yet effective option to instantly add elegance to your wedding stationery.

Invitation Envelopes

Packaging is tipped to be just as important as the invitation itself and clients are choosing the trendy vellum paper envelopes, lined and printed envelopes as well as luxury ribbons and wax seals to complete the look before gifting.
