Ever wondered what a stylist’s wedding day looks like?
Well this is what it looked like when our lovely Birmingham North franchisee, Sophie got married earlier this year at the beautiful Fillongley Hall, Warwickshire – an exclusive marquee weddings & events venue, just 20 minutes from the M42 & M6 near Birmingham with easy access from London. Set in eighty-five acres, the Grade 2 listed Hall is a quintessential English country house. With over two hundred years of history, it provides a stunning backdrop for bespoke marquee weddings and corporate events with its formal gardens, romantic woodlands, and stunning views across the Warwickshire countryside. It remains a family home and is available for exclusive hire for a limited number of dates each year.
Wedding day expectations
The pressure is on when you run your own business as a wedding and events stylist and then you undertake the job of styling your own wedding…expectations are high! However, I’m sure you’ll agree, this one was an absolute beauty and we couldn’t wait to share some images from her special day with you all! We asked Sophie from @ambiencebirminghamnorth how she found the whole process and what top tip she would provide to wedding planning couples like yourselves! Sage green and dusky blue
Sophie’s vision was one that incorporated a sage green and dusky blue colour palette with lots of fresh statement florals and an abundance of accessories to create an elegant, uplifting and atmospheric setting for her wedding ceremony and reception. Featuring floral columns at the entrance to the venue and leading into tall standing urns, was the perfect way to greet her wedding party and set the scene for what was to come!
Tipi wedding reception styling
Her tipi reception had a really fun and vibrant feel with a banquet style layout displaying gorgeous tablescapes of floral arrangements and candlelight. Elegant place settings welcomed each and every guest and no detail was overlooked. As day turned to night, the tipi was illuminated with bespoke lighting pieces such as personalised neon quotes “better together”.
Top tips for any wedding planning couples!
Hire a stylist – “I highly recommend a stylist to everyone! Allow yourself to relax and enjoy the whole experience and don’t underestimate how much work goes into styling and flowering your own day. Even as someone who does it for a living, it was still challenging and very time consuming.”.
Don’t apologise! – “Worried about changing your mind on some of the decisions you made at the start? Don’t apologise! This is your big day and you can change your mind as many times as you like to get things just as you want them. Work with your stylist to make informed decisions that best suit your vision and you’ll soon be feeling like everything is all under control” 🙂
