Weddings in Summer 2020

According to the latest government plans, we could see hotels and sectors of hospitality reopen from the 4th July. If you were due to get married in July, the likelihood is that you’ve either postponed or considered a potential back up date as it’s still unknown as to whether or not weddings will be able to go ahead.

Smaller Weddings

Whilst weddings may return, there will be a limit on guest numbers or venue capacity for the month of July as venues will be under strict guidelines to adhere to the social distancing measures. Dependent upon the success of easing the lockdown, if the R rate can remain under 1, then we could see guest limits increase for weddings in August and we anticipate this to be around 50 guests.

Weddings in Autumn 2020

If the government’s phased plan runs to schedule then things are looking much more hopeful for autumn/winter weddings. Travel restrictions could be lifted by September meaning that if you have guests travelling from overseas then they could potentially still attend your wedding day. Social distancing measures could also be eased if the transmission of the virus remains low.

At Ambience we are monitoring updates frequently and working closely with our clients and venues to ensure that we can support you in any way we can. Please head to our FAQ’s section on our website if you are at all concerned about your booking at https://www.ambiencevenuestyling.com/covid-19-faqs/ or contact your stylist directly who will be happy to guide you.

We also don’t want to forget about the couples who are recently engaged and are right at the start of their wedding planning journey. The country went into lockdown at the end of March, a time of year that many couples start to attend wedding fairs and showcases to find their wedding venue or suppliers. Many businesses have pivoted and adapted to enable brides and grooms to tour their venues virtually.

Now that venues are gradually starting to reopen, there has been a huge surge in enquiries for couples to physically go and view their chosen venue in a socially distanced appointment so keep a look out in your local area if you want to kick start your planning again.
